GKC Parent's Night Out SUCCESS and family update.

If you didn't already know, I'm the kids ministry leader at our church. We had our parent's night out event  tonight. It was a lot of fun. We had a great turn out, 19 kids! It seemed like all the kids had a great time and the volunteers did also. I love doing these event's not only because it reaches out to the community but to see kid's so excited and happy and have such a great time is amazing and so worth all the prep work. I realize even more after doing these event's just how much I love children and how passionate  I am about them in so many ways.  Here are some pictures from tonights event!

Josiah enjoyed building with the BIG blocks

Josiah also enjoyed knocking down the other kids tower!

My partner in ministry and good friend Allie with Sophia

I made an appointment in a couple weeks with a nice lady at a christian preschool nearby to see if I can come volunteer my time and offer some help when I can in the school. I really enjoy kids at the preschool age and I want to explore this area of schooling more to see if I may want to try it in the future! I'll let you know how it goes. I've also started my reading assignments for becoming a doula! I'm so excited about this. I've joined a group of women who are doulas that meet here in Columbus every month and I'm going to take my 12 hours of required childbirth education classes next month! I also am going to be job shadowing with one of the ladies I have been talking to that is a doula here in Columbus. Reading these books really take me back to my pregnancy with Josiah. I can't wait to be able to help other women as they go through their miracle journey of pregnancy and birth! :)

Josiah has been feeling so much better lately. He has been eating like a little piggy! I'm thinking he's making up for lost time while he was sick and didn't eat ANYTHING or he's having a growth spurt. Whatever it is, I'm just a HAPPY mom knowing my baby is finally able to eat again and keep it down! I have some pictures of him I've taken recently that I'll share at the end of the blog. I just can't believe how much he is growing up. He can say many different words now like hot, light, dog, done, mama and dad. He also signs a lot of words to us now too like all done, more, ball, sleep, dog, car, water, and eat. He is usually good with communication with us although sometimes, usually when he's not getting his way he will throw temper tantrums! He falls out on the floor and cry's and sometimes flings himself nearly out of our arms when he's mad about something! Marland and I have just been letting him do it and ignoring him while he does it and it seems to be helping because he stops pretty soon after knowing he's not getting attention for doing it. I think he is going through a stage right now where he is just trying to test the water with us and see how far he can push us. It is not easy to deal with sometimes myself being alone most of the day with him but we are getting the hang of it I think.  He is RUNNING all over the place now and braver than ever. He loves the trash can, broom and turning the light switch on and off whenever I will let him. His favorite foods are spaghetti, chicken and tune casserole, grapes, mandarin oranges, yogurt, and most breads. He still drinks mainly water but I can get him to drink about a cup or more of milk a day plus one or two times of nursing during the day. He's getting better falling asleep but it varies from one day to the next with him. His new thing right now is pointing. He points at everything right now so I'm working on getting him to tell me what he's pointing at.

Marland is doing well in school. He doesn't seem as overwhelmed with his classes this semester but he is concerned about getting his gpa up before he graduates. He's not doing bad at all he just wants to be even better. That's my man for ya. haha. He now has the stress and worry of finding a job for after he graduates. He's already applied at a couple of places and has a couple more places in mind. We have no clue where we'll be after he graduates or what the plans are. We can't wait to just have an idea of what is going to happen after he graduates. But for now, it's just time to pray and have faith that God will put us where we belong!

We got our pictures for our passports this weekend! We are all very excited about the cruise we are going on in September with our family to celebrate Marland's graduation! Josiah did great getting his picture taken! I think it's because he's so used to me snapping pictures of him all day! :)

Enjoy the pics!

Good Night!

Very sleepy baby in his favorite chair watching his favorite movie "baby signing time!"

His new thing...pointing!

Again, he points at everything he wants and sometimes even things he doesn't.

Another new thing he's picked up...blowing off his food when its too hot. <3 him.

big ol naked belly. His looks are changing!

Keeping him occupied while I fix dinner

All the toys in the world don't compare to some boxes in the kitchen
